January 2009 - Therapeutic Garden Design

Landscapes for health are spaces that foster health and wellness through a contact with the natural environment. In a medical setting a therapeutic garden promotes healing by providing relief from illness, reducing stress, improving blood pressure and respiration rates and creates a sense of familiarity, safety and hopefulness for the patients, family members and the health care providers. These gardens have been shown to provide a positive distraction from the daily barrage of stress and restore an internal calm, a reconnection with one's true self and provide mental and physical relaxation resulting in an enhanced well-being.

BETA's goal is to actively help and support our Healthcare client provide the best possible facility that will reduce staff stress and absenteeism, improve patient health, increase client satisfaction and strengthen their bottom line.
