January 2009 - A New Landmark Hotel

Since Grand Rapids, Michigan, firms are doing an ever increasing amount of international business, a clear need for an international quality hotel was identified. The result is the new JW Marriott Hotel, which has created a sparkling change to the Grand Rapids skyline. This 24-story, 340-room luxury hotel was designed by BETA Design in conjunction with Goettsch Partners of Chicago.

The hotel contains a 13,000 square foot ballroom, twelve meeting rooms, business center, rooftop helistop and underground receiving. A 24 story atrium connects the two level lobby to the riverside restaurant, Six One Six offering an upscale dining experience for guests & locals. Elevated pedestrian walkways allow indoor movement between venues and attaches to a 700 vehicle parking structure. This project has been well received and business has been vibrant.
